Emboss or engrave a face or plane the emboss feature raises or recesses a profile relative to the model face by a specified depth and direction. I have attached video of the same. @shachar_weis inventor has more controls and features than 123d design.

The procedure i followed to solve the problem was as below. On the sketch tab, use commands to create a profile to emboss or engrave. Click profile, and reselect new text or sketch geometry to include in the embossed feature.

Click sketch tab draw panel text and create sketch text. Set up the text on a plane some distance from the surface outside the object. A separate extruded text object (may need to convert to mesh) that is positioned on the surface of the main object.
I Don't Know What A Drafted Surface Is But If You Offset A Work Plane From A Weird Surface And Put The Text On The Surface And A Sketch.
